General Music Lesson
The purpose of this lesson was to lead students through exploration of music of other world cultures. In this lesson, I taught students the Zimbabwean song, “Botendere.” Students learned the purpose of the song in Zimbabwean tradition and made cross-cultural connections through engagement in singing and through replication of the song’s accompanying dance.
Choral Music Lesson
In this lesson, I taught a vocal warm-up with the purpose of practicing legato style singing with appropriate vowel placement and resonance.
